The Cabinet also approved the procurement price of sugarcane
at EGP 2,500 per ton, and sugar beet at EGP 2,000 per ton for the 2025/2026

The announcement comes as part of the state’s efforts to
address current economic challenges and the leadership’s vision to strengthen
food security and reduce reliance on imports. It also seeks to expand
cultivated land, increase the production of strategic crops, and establish balanced
policies that ensure fairness for farmers and sustainability of natural
resources. These measures align with the goals of Egypt Vision 2030, enhancing
the country’s ability to achieve self-sufficiency and provide safe food for
citizens.
