The General Division for Gold and Jewelry confirmed that no
tax is imposed on the resale of gold jewelry, stressing that any deductions
applied during resale have no legal basis.
It further clarified that recent claims of a 1% to 3% tax on
the sale of used gold are unfounded, emphasizing that the statement aims to
reassure consumers and prevent confusion among jewelry retailers.
