The breakthrough comes after negotiations between Egyptian and Peruvian agricultural quarantine officials, said Dr. Mohamed Al-Mansi, head of Egypt's Central Administration for Agricultural Quarantine. He noted that the move is part of a broader effort to open new markets for Egyptian agricultural exports and boost foreign currency reserves.
Farouk extended his thanks to the agricultural quarantine
staff and other ministry officials for their work in expanding Egypt's
agricultural exports, opening new markets, and maintaining the quality of
Egyptian products.
The Minister emphasized the significance of this step,
stating it will strengthen Egypt's position as a key exporter of propagating
materials like saplings and seeds, making the country a distinguished hub for
these products.
This development follows a similar success earlier this year when Egyptian strawberry saplings gained access to the Brazilian market, making Peru the second Latin American country to open its doors to this Egyptian export.
