Both sides affirmed the close bilateral relations between the two countries, built on a long history of cooperation. They stressed the importance of joint efforts to develop economic collaboration in trade and investment.
El-Khatib emphasized the government’s commitment to
attracting major Korean companies, highlighting Egypt's continuously developing
infrastructure and its access to numerous foreign markets through free trade
agreements. He noted that the Egyptian market offers several competitive
advantages, including a unique geographical location, available industrial
land, and a highly skilled workforce with competitive wages.
The Minister also outlined the government's efforts to
launch an integrated digital platform to simplify procedures for investors. He
said the platform will connect various government agencies and provide digital
services to reduce costs, save time, and increase transparency.
Engineer El-Khatib added that the government has
successfully reduced the time for customs clearance and aims to bring it down
to just two days to speed up trade flow.
For his part, Ambassador Kim praised Egypt's efforts to
boost exports and attract investment, citing the success of major Korean
companies like Samsung and LG in the Egyptian market.
Kim also extended an official invitation for El-Khatib to visit South Korea to exchange expertise on investment and manufacturing and to strengthen joint efforts to expand economic cooperation.
