Sisi extends Central Bank chief's term

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Monday extended the mandate of Hassan Abdalla as acting governor of the Central Bank of Egypt for one year, starting August 18.

The decision was made in accordance with the constitution and Law No. 194 of 2020 on the Central Bank and Banking System, as well as Presidential Decrees No. 367 of 2022, No. 346 of 2023, and No. 343 of 2024.

The decision was published in the Official Gazette.
