The program aims to equip students with the specialized knowledge, practical skills, and ethical foundations needed to succeed in the evolving banking sector. This is especially crucial given the rapid digital transformation and increasing economic challenges.
Students will gain advanced skills in a variety of areas,
including: Financial inclusion, fundamentals of digital banking and financial
technology, risk management and advanced banking regulations, and sustainable
banking and environmental, social, and corporate governance.
The program also ensures that graduates are both
academically and practically qualified for the job market by providing
intensive practical training and case studies in cooperation with Egyptian
banks.
Hassan Abdalla, Governor of the Central Bank, stated that
the program represents a long-term strategic investment to empower youth with
global banking skills, helping to develop future leaders and boost economic
growth.
Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and
Scientific Research, explained that this is the first program of its kind,
developed in partnership between the ministry and the Central Bank. It relies
on modern, specialized curricula and provides hands-on training opportunities
within banks. The program is designed to qualify and train young people
interested in the financial and banking sector.
Dr. Moustafa Refaat, Secretary-General of the Supreme
Council of Universities, noted that the council is committed to ensuring curricula
align with labor market needs. He added that on May 31, 2025, the council
approved the regulations for the program, which grants a Bachelor of Commerce
degree with a specialization in Banking Sciences and will be taught in English
at faculties of commerce.
Dr. Abdelaziz Nosseir, Executive Director of the Egyptian Banking Institute, said the program is a genuine response to the changing needs of the banking job market. He confirmed that the institute, in collaboration with banking experts and university professors, will provide practical instruction for the program.
