Egypt launches 'Your Farm in Egypt' initiative for expats

Egypt has launched a new initiative, "Your Farm in Egypt," to encourage Egyptians abroad to invest in the country's national project to reclaim and cultivate 1.5 million feddan of desert land.

Chairman of Egyptian Countryside Development Company Major General Engineer Amr Abdel Wahab., announced the initiative at the sixth Conference for Egyptians Abroad, held under the theme "From Everywhere... Egypt is the Address."

During a presentation, Abdel Wahab showcased the progress of the national project, highlighting the areas available for investment that have been fully equipped with infrastructure. He stated that the company has prepared thousands of feddan for cultivation and is actively attracting serious investors and creating opportunities for young people.

"The 1.5 million feddan project is no longer just desert land waiting for development; it has become a vibrant reality," Abdel Wahab said. "We are working together to transform the desert into productive oases and build modern agricultural communities with housing, services, and real job opportunities."

He emphasized that the project reflects the serious will of the government to develop the Egyptian countryside, urbanize the desert, and achieve a significant leap in food security.

The "Your Farm in Egypt" initiative, launched in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, allows Egyptians abroad to own and reclaim equipped plots of land. The company will provide comprehensive technical, administrative, and legal support to ensure a secure and sustainable investment.

"This initiative is a new bridge connecting Egyptians abroad with their homeland," Abdel Wahab said. "It gives them a chance to invest in a vital sector that represents the future of development in Egypt. We welcome every Egyptian who wants to leave their mark on the cultivation of their country."

He added that the goal is for every Egyptian living abroad to own a piece of land to cultivate, a dream to fulfill, and a future to build for themselves and their country. "Our new initiative is a gateway for all Egyptians abroad to participate in this massive national project."

To facilitate the process, the company has implemented a transparent electronic system for applications, inspections, and reservations, allowing expatriates to participate without needing to be physically present in Egypt.

"We are not just offering land for sale or use, but a comprehensive vision for the agriculture of the future, with the participation of our children and brothers abroad," he said.

Abdel Wahab concluded by affirming that the company continues to work in full coordination with state institutions to implement the directives of the political leadership to achieve food security and sustainable development in the heart of the Egyptian desert.
