Engineer Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, met on Monday with Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Managing Director and CEO of ADNOC, as part of an official visit to the United Arab Emirates.

The minister also held talks with Nasser Al Yafei, CEO of Arceus Energy, and the accompanying delegation.

Badawi expressed Egypt’s interest in launching strategic oil and gas projects to enhance cooperation with the UAE. He also stressed the strong support from Egypt’s political leadership for the energy sector, including continuous directives to support investors with flexibility and transparency.

Dr. Al Jaber reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to long-term investments in Egypt’s energy market, reflecting the solid and longstanding ties between the two countries.

Al Yafei praised the efforts of the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources in maintaining energy security, describing the talks as constructive and aligned with mutual interests. He pointed to promising opportunities in the Eastern Mediterranean—including undeveloped discoveries and new exploration prospects, as potential drivers for expanding the company’s operations in Egypt.

Badawi was accompanied by Dr. Samir Raslan, Head of the Central Department for Agreements and Exploration; Nasser Shoman, Head of the Central Department for Petroleum Transport and Marketing; and Dr. Mohamed El-Bagoury, Supervisor of the Central Department for Legal Affairs.
