The conference, titled "From Everywhere... Egypt is the Address," was opened by Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly, who is also the chairman of MSMEDA's board, and Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, along with several other ministers.
During his participation, Rahmy presented an overview of
MSMEDA's services, including financial and non-financial support, marketing,
training, and community development. He detailed the agency's strategy to
create a favorable environment for entrepreneurs from the Egyptian diaspora to
invest in Egypt and transfer their expertise to the local market.
Rahmy affirmed that MSMEDA offers comprehensive support to
expatriate entrepreneurs and skilled professionals looking to invest in Egypt,
particularly in key industrial and manufacturing sectors. This support aims to
help them invest their savings in profitable ventures that contribute to the
national economy. He emphasized that this is facilitated by flexible
legislation and a variety of financial and technical services that ensure a
stable and effective business environment.
The MSMEDA head highlighted the agency's commitment to
attracting investments from Egyptians abroad by showcasing partnership and
investment opportunities. He noted that the agency's efforts include attracting
Egyptian expertise in entrepreneurship, encouraging them to establish projects
in Egypt, and providing necessary services with professional standards.
He also mentioned that the agency offers innovative
financing mechanisms, such as a successful venture capital program implemented
with the World Bank, as well as leasing and Islamic financing options.
Additionally, MSMEDA provides a wide range of franchise brands, offering stable
and successful investment opportunities for returning Egyptians.
Rahmy pointed out that the government is working to make Egypt's
domestic environment competitive with other markets to attract diverse
investments. This, he said, strengthens the national economy by increasing
local production, reducing reliance on imports, and creating more decent and
sustainable job opportunities.
Rahmy also reviewed MSMEDA's cooperation with the private sector and its partnerships with local and international institutions to provide more support to the sector. He praised the Foreign Ministry's role in coordinating efforts among all state agencies to create attractive plans for Egyptians abroad, encouraging them to invest their expertise and funds in the Egyptian market.
