Accompanied by Gharbia Governor Ashraf El-Guindy, Shimi's tour focused on the first phase of the project, which includes the Ghazl 1, Ghazl 4, and Preparations 1 factories, as well as a new power station that became operational in December 2024. He reviewed production rates and sales figures for the newly operational facilities.

Shimi also assessed the status of the second and final phase of the development, which includes the Ghazl 6 factory, and the Weaving, Dyeing, and Weaving Preparations 2 complexes. He was briefed on the installation of new machinery and the projected timelines for their completion and operation.

He followed up on the executive status of the second and final phase of the Mahalla Ghazl company's development. This phase includes factories "Ghazl 6," the "Weaving," "Dyeing," and "Weaving Preparations 2" complexes, as well as infrastructure networks and service buildings. The minister followed the progress of the work and the installation of new machinery. He was briefed on the completion rates and the expected operational plans, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Shaker, CEO of the Cotton, Spinning, Weaving and Garments Holding Company, and Engineer Ahmed Badr, CEO of the Misr Spinning and Weaving Company in El Mahalla El Kobra.

Addressing project contractors, the minister emphasized the importance of adhering to deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards to ensure the new facilities enter service promptly. He highlighted the strategic importance of the project, stating it is a key pillar of a national initiative to restore Egypt's historic leadership in the textile sector.

The project, he noted, aims to boost the value of Egyptian cotton, increase the export competitiveness of Egyptian products, and introduce advanced production technology. It enhances operational efficiency to achieve industrial integration and transform the affiliated companies into strong and capable productive entities for sustainable growth.

Shimi directed that a top priority be given to the system of marketing and promoting products, to keep pace with the ongoing modernization and to open new markets for export. He also stressed the importance of improving the efficiency of human resources through continuous training and the transfer of modern expertise.

Governor El-Guindy praised the state's support for the project and highlighted the governorate's efforts to improve local infrastructure, including roads leading to the factory, to facilitate operations and reduce traffic congestion. He affirmed the project's role in restoring El Mahalla El Kubra's status as a major industrial hub.
