EUI hosts top high school graduates, offers scholarships

University of Informatics (EUI) hosted the top high school graduates for the 2024/2025 academic year at its campus in Knowledge City, New Administrative Capital. The visit aimed to introduce them to the scholarships offered by the university to top-performing students nationwide, as well as to showcase EUI's distinctive academic programs, which are comparable to those of leading global universities with whom EUI has partnership agreements for dual degrees.

During his meeting with the top high school graduates and their families, Dr. Ahmed Hamad, Acting President of EUI, emphasized the university's commitment to attracting distinguished and talented students. He highlighted the university's efforts to provide opportunities for excellence and participation in transforming Egypt into a regional hub for future jobs and sciences, and a key player in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, rather than merely a consumer of its technological achievements, particularly in artificial intelligence.

Hamad added that the New Republic prioritizes science, scientific research, and applied sciences to prepare a new generation of innovators and entrepreneurs who can support the state's efforts to transition from a traditional, limited-potential economy to a knowledge-based economy with added value for human resources. He noted that Egypt possesses all the capabilities to achieve a leap in its economic competitiveness and regional and international standing, especially given the ambition and innovation of Egyptian youth and their ability to think outside the box. This is evident in dozens of graduation projects designed by students from the first graduating class of EUI colleges this year.

Dr. Hamad stated that EUI stands out due to its network of international agreements, such as its partnerships in telecommunications and electronics engineering, and computer engineering with Purdue University, ranked sixth globally. It also has an agreement with the University of Minnesota, ranked 36th in computer science, and a third with Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa in Canada for finance, business technology management, digital marketing, and e-commerce, which is among the top 1 percent of business schools worldwide. Additionally, EUI has two agreements with two renowned French universities: CESI, ranked 54th globally, and ISART Digital, the second-best university globally in video games. An agreement with Lancaster University in the UK aims to bridge the gap between academic studies and the job market, enhancing the competitiveness of EUI graduates domestically and internationally, especially given EUI's advanced technological infrastructure and research laboratories that rival those of the most prestigious global universities.

He explained that EUI began receiving applications for its scholarships for the new academic year 2025/2026, marking the fifth consecutive year the university has offered these scholarships since its establishment in 2021.

Hamad stated that through EUI's relationships with global companies, international universities, and Ministry of Communications and Information Technology institutions operating in Knowledge City, the university aims to establish an environment that benefits students and professors, and most importantly, supports efforts to develop the information and communication technology market, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy as a whole.

EUI is the first specialized university in information and communication technology in the Middle East and Africa, established by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

It comprises four faculties:

The Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, offering programs in Computer and Information Sciences with specializations in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, and Data Science and Engineering.

The Faculty of Engineering offers three programs: Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering.

The Faculty of Business Technology offers four specializations: Business Technology Management, Business Analytics, Finance, and Digital Marketing and E-commerce.
