Meanwhile, Egypt’s gold and silver jewelry sector is
attracting growing interest following the announcement by the Gold and Precious
Metals Division of the Federation of Egyptian Industries of a new strategy to
support the silver industry.
Ehab Wassef, Chairman of the Gold and Precious Metals
Division at the Federation of Egyptian Industries, stated that the plan aims to
support small and medium-sized silver workshops through incentives such as
customs exemptions on production inputs, low-interest financing of up to 5%,
and specialized technical training programs.
He added that the initiative seeks to strengthen local
production, reduce dependence on low-quality imports, and promote market stability
and growth in the precious metals sector.
