Gold prices in Egypt record EGP 4,630 for 21-karat

Gold traders in Egypt are watching price trends with cautious anticipation, as global markets show relative stability and investors seek safe-haven assets. On Monday, July 28, 2025, gold prices held steady at Sunday’s levels, with expectations of a slight upward movement in the coming hours.

Gold Prices in Egypt:

24-karat: EGP 5,291/g

21-karat: EGP 4,630/g

18-karat: EGP 3,968/g

Gold pound: EGP 37,040

Market indicators suggest a potential increase of EGP 20–30 per gram, driven by minor international fluctuations and limited local supply amid uncertainty.

Meanwhile, Egypt’s gold and silver jewelry sector is attracting growing interest following the announcement by the Gold and Precious Metals Division of the Federation of Egyptian Industries of a new strategy to support the silver industry.

Ehab Wassef, Chairman of the Gold and Precious Metals Division at the Federation of Egyptian Industries, stated that the plan aims to support small and medium-sized silver workshops through incentives such as customs exemptions on production inputs, low-interest financing of up to 5%, and specialized technical training programs.

He added that the initiative seeks to strengthen local production, reduce dependence on low-quality imports, and promote market stability and growth in the precious metals sector.
