Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly held a meeting at the government headquarters in New Alamein City with Cedric Cremers, Executive Vice President of Shell Integrated Gas, to review the company’s ongoing activities in the Egyptian market.

The meeting was attended by Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and Dalia El-Gabry, Chairperson of Shell Egypt.

The Prime Minister confirmed regular follow-up on Shell’s investments in coordination with the Minister of Petroleum, stressing the significance of the company’s role in supporting Egypt’s energy sector. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to settling the dues of foreign partners as part of a broader strategy to increase production and exploration rates across concession areas operated by international companies in the oil and gas sector.

Cremers expressed interest in maintaining cooperation with the Egyptian government and continuing the implementation of Shell’s investment plans. He noted that Egypt ranks fifth globally in Shell’s exploration activities, reflecting the strategic value of its operations in the country.

He also reviewed the company’s efforts in collaboration with the Egyptian government in the natural gas sector on a regional level, in addition to ongoing coordination on exploration and securing Egypt’s natural gas needs. He emphasized the importance of Shell’s investments in Egypt and outlined prospects for joint investment with Gulf countries to support Egypt’s energy development efforts.

Badawi highlighted the support provided by Shell in increasing gas production and securing natural gas shipments. He expressed appreciation for the ongoing cooperation and looked forward to expanding the company’s investments, especially in adopting advanced technologies that meet environmental and safety standards.

El-Gabry reviewed Shell Egypt’s community engagement programs and the application of modern procedures aligned with environmental and civil protection requirements.

Madbouly underscored the importance of expanding Shell’s investments in Egypt, particularly in light of promising exploration opportunities and the government’s commitment to supporting foreign partners and fulfilling financial obligations in the petroleum sector.
