The exports, facilitated by 1,115 companies across 3,000 shipments, saw potatoes and strawberries as the leading fruit and vegetable exports.
Overall, some 660 categories of food products were exported,
including molasses, various vegetables, tubers, flour, and grain products. Vegetables:
totaling 30,000 tonnes across 48 varieties, led by: potatoes: 10,000 tonnes, beans:
6,000 tonnes, mixed frozen vegetables: 5,000 tonnes, fruits: totaling 21,000
tonnes across 27 varieties, led by strawberries: 8,000 tonnes, citrus: 5,000
tonnes, fresh grapes: 4,000 tonnes.
Egyptian food products reached 171 countries, with Spain,
Lebanon, Sudan, and Canada among the top importers.
Port Activity: Alexandria
Port handled the most export shipments with 500, followed by Damietta Port
(355) and Safaga Port (335).
The NFSA issued 860 health certificates for exports during
the week, aiming to ensure product compliance and boost international
confidence in Egyptian goods.
Egypt also imported approximately 225,000 tonnes of food
products in 1,560 shipments from 740 companies. Key imports included wheat,
various oils, soybeans, and fava beans.
Russia was the top exporter to Egypt, ahead of Indonesia,
Ukraine, and the United States, among 90 countries supplying the Egyptian
market.
Alexandria Port also led in import shipments with 470,
followed by Cairo International Airport (290) and Sokhna Port (220).
In regulatory actions, 860 food shipments received
provisional release, while 333 were cleared under an expedited system. The NFSA
also issued 60 import licenses and documented 85 shipments as part of grievance
committee decisions.
The authority further registered 34 new food products, inspected 306, issued 37 free-sale certificates, and accredited 26 companies in the food sector.
