The visit included a detailed briefing on the water
station’s operational history. The first phase of the facility, launched in
October 1998 and operational since November 2001, has a design capacity of
102,000 cubic meters per day (1,200 liters per second). A second phase,
initiated in 2015 and completed in 2018, added another 102,000 cubic meters per
day, doubling the total capacity to 204,000 cubic meters per day (2,400 liters
per second). The station supplies drinking water to Mansoura city, parts of Talkha
and Aga, and several villages in the Mansoura district, serving nearly one
million residents.
The inspection also covered the Central Laboratory, where
workflows and water sampling and testing procedures were reviewed. Water
produced at the station is analyzed every two hours to ensure compliance with
international quality standards. The facility renewed its Technical Sustainable
Management (TSM) certification for the fifth time in 2020/2021, reflecting its
commitment to high standards in operation and maintenance.
The Minister commended the condition of the station and the
efficiency of its maintenance operations. He emphasized the Central
Laboratory's role as a model in water quality assurance.
The tour was attended by officials from the Holding Company
for Water and Wastewater, the National Organization for Potable Water and
Sanitary Drainage, the Regulatory Agency for Potable Water and Wastewater, and
the Dakahlia Water and Wastewater Company.
