Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesperson for
the presidency, stated that the President's speech addressed the honorable
journey of the great people of Egypt and the notable achievements and
advancements realized by Egyptians since the start of this inspiring revolution
73 years ago. The speech emphasized that since the launch of the New Republic
in 2014, Egypt has continued its efforts to build a modern state that meets the
aspirations of its people and moves forward with its achievements through an
ambitious vision and resolute measures characterized by unwavering
determination and persistence.
In his speech, the president said: "On a day like this,
Egyptians wrote a bright page in their country's history when the spark of the
July 1952 revolution ignited, marking a turning point in the nation's journey.
It ended the era of hateful occupation, solidified the values of pride,
dignity, and independence, and lit the torches of liberation in third-world
countries and our Arab region. The Egyptian revolution was an inspiration for
liberation from colonialism and for independent national decision-making."
He continued: "As we commemorate the anniversary of the
revolution today, we recall a comprehensive national experience, delving into
the depths of its lessons, and using its successes and setbacks to illuminate
the path of the New Republic. This republic, which began in 2014, is based on
solid foundations, an ambitious vision, and steady steps toward establishing a
modern state that uses scientific principles to achieve its ambitions and
trusts in God Almighty to realize its goals."
President Sisi added: "Over the past few years, the Egyptian state
has been at the forefront of shaping the present and forging the future. We
modernized our brave army until it became an impenetrable shield and a sharp
sword. We defeated terrorism. We witnessed a comprehensive urban boom; slums
were removed, housing was built, and smart cities were established.
Infrastructure made unprecedented leaps. The 'Dignified Life' project was
launched, allowing nearly 60 million citizens to live in a civilized
environment. And there were other notable achievements in all parts of the
country. I affirm that Egypt, which refused to let its citizens live in slums
and dangerous areas, will not leave any deserving person in a cycle of anxiety
about their future."
He continued: "Egypt has achieved many successes during
a time when countries collapsed, entities disintegrated, and hardships
increased. But Egypt, thanks to God and the awareness and understanding of
Egyptians, remained a haven of security and stability and a guaranteed
humanitarian sanctuary. Around 10 million people from many countries sought
refuge here, and Egypt presented the world with a unique model of humanity and
responsibility. Despite continuous pressures, Egypt has never abandoned its
national and humanitarian responsibilities. Thanks to God and the will and
awareness of this great nation, we were able to persevere, endure hardships,
preserve the nation and its stability, and embark on the path of construction
in a strong national epic with an unbreakable will and determination."
El-Sisi stated that Egypt would remain fortified by its cohesive internal front, resistant to conspiracies and seditions, and vigilant to everything being plotted around it. He concluded by expressing his firm certainty that the nation was capable, with the will of God Almighty and the strength and patience of its people, of overcoming challenges and hardships, no matter how varied their forms and sources might be.
