The meeting was attended by Minister of Planning, Economic
Development and International Cooperation Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of
Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Expatriate Affairs Dr. Badr Abdelatty, and
Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Engineer Hassan El-Khatib, along with
several officials from relevant entities. Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir,
Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and
Transport, also participated via video conference.
Madbouly opened the meeting by emphasizing the government's
interest in bolstering Egyptian-American relations, citing the strategic and
historical ties between the two countries. He highlighted numerous
opportunities for joint cooperation.
The Prime Minister underscored the Egyptian government's
commitment to overcoming all obstacles to shared cooperation and proposing
specific projects for future collaboration. He also pointed to promising
opportunities for American companies, especially given the significant
incentives offered by the Egyptian government to foreign investors.
Foreign Minister Dr. Abdelatty reviewed his ministry's
efforts and communications to support Egyptian-American relations, both
bilaterally and concerning Middle East issues, in addition to fostering joint
economic cooperation.
Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of
Industry and Transport, outlined investment opportunities presented to American
companies, currently under discussion, in the port, maritime transport, and
industrial zones sectors.
During the meeting, Planning Minister Dr. Al-Mashat
discussed developmental cooperation with the US through successful programs
that serve Egypt's development efforts and strengthen bilateral relations. She
also reviewed the features of the Egyptian-American economic cooperation
program and the implementation status of projects funded by the US Agency for
International Development (USAID) in Egypt. Additionally, she highlighted her
ministry's efforts to expand economic cooperation frameworks and enhance
relations across various fields.
Investment Minister Engineer El-Khatib detailed his
ministry's efforts to support trade exchange between the two sides and
encourage American investments in Egypt.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Madbouly directed all relevant authorities to coordinate in preparing a set of promising investment opportunities and to follow up on presenting them to American companies, with the aim of boosting US investments in Egypt.
