During the visit, the Minister reviewed the daily operations plan and the flow of natural gas through the national grid with Engineer Yasser Salah, Chairman of GASCO, and the NATA team. The discussion included both domestically produced gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG), regasified from imported shipments, delivered via the three floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs) operating at the SUMED and Sonker terminals.
He was also briefed on detailed operational scenarios and emergency preparedness plans designed to ensure the continuous and uninterrupted supply of natural gas, particularly critical during the summer season amid rising electricity demand.
Badawi praised the efforts of the control center teams, commending their role in maintaining stable gas supplies to strategic sectors, especially power plants, in support of the state’s plan to manage peak energy consumption.
