This second offering focuses on the city's third phase,
which is dedicated to the final production of leather goods and related
accessories. Applications are open until July 27th.
The offering includes 36 ready-to-operate factories, all
designed and equipped to the highest industrial and environmental standards.
Building on the success of the first offering, this phase aims to welcome more
manufacturers into an integrated industrial community that can compete
effectively in both local and international markets, facilitated by the
"Egypt Industrial Platform."
Following directives from Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy
Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and
Transport, this offering provides a diverse range of factory sizes to accommodate
various investor needs. It includes 6 factories spanning 2000 m², 10 factories
of 1000 m², and 20 workshops at 121 m² each.
The streamlined digital application system allows investors
to apply for multiple units with a single request, offering both ownership and
leasing options for greater flexibility and competitive pricing. This process
ensures complete transparency in allocation and technical inspections, backed
by full support from the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) from the
initial application stage through to operation and export.
The Ministry of Industry has confirmed a range of incentives
for investors participating in the second offering at Robeiky Leather City.
These include a 25% down payment for investors, followed by a one-year grace
period before installment payments begin. The remaining balance can be paid over
five years at a competitive 10% interest rate directly through Cairo Investment
and Development Company.
For leasing options, investors are required to pay a three-month
security deposit upon application. An additional three months' rent is due upon
allocation, followed by a three-month rent-free grace period before the first
rental payment.
In a move to bolster investor support, the Export
Development Bank of Egypt (EDBE) has partnered with the initiative as its
official sponsor. The EDBE will offer comprehensive financial solutions,
including funding up to 90% of industrial unit purchases with repayment terms
extending to 10 years. They will also finance machinery and equipment with
repayment periods up to seven years. Furthermore, the EDBE's Exporters' Club
will assist exporters by providing a full suite of banking and non-banking
services, aiming to expand Egypt's exporter base and boost production and
export capacities.
Manufacturers within Robeiky Leather City will benefit from
additional incentives, notably an extra 50% on export burden refunds, designed
to enhance the competitiveness of their products.
The Ministry of Industry highlighted that this offering
represents an ideal opportunity for local and international brands involved in
finished leather products or their feeder industries. Robeiky Leather City
boasts all the necessary success factors, including advanced infrastructure, a
complete utilities network, a sophisticated industrial wastewater treatment
plant, and an environment compliant with international standards. The
availability of raw materials, primary processing, and tanning stages,
alongside technical support, training, and qualification services through dedicated
centers, further enhance its appeal.
The city also simplifies procedures, offering a streamlined
terms and conditions booklet and facilitated industrial license issuance. The
Industrial Development Authority (IDA) provides comprehensive support, from initial
application to production and export.
Strategically located in Badr City within Greater Cairo,
Robeiky Leather City benefits from excellent connectivity to transportation
networks and ports, significantly boosting its export capabilities. It is 100
km from Suez Seaport, 50 km from Cairo Airport, and 24 km from the New
Administrative Capital Airport. Ongoing construction of road and railway lines
will further connect it to the dry port and logistics zone in 10th of Ramadan
City.
The Ministry of Industry underscored that this second offering reaffirms the state's strong commitment to the leather industry as a promising sector in Egypt. It reflects ongoing efforts to empower manufacturers and investors, fostering a stimulating environment that generates real added value for the national economy and increases export rates in this crucial sector.
