The Holding Company's consolidated budget for FY 2025-2026
anticipates significant growth, with projected revenues of EGP 24.585 billion
and total targeted expenditures of EGP 9.727 billion. This is expected to
result in a net profit of EGP 14.858 billion, representing a substantial 25.3%
increase over the approved budget for FY 2024-2025.
Similarly, the Holding Company's independent budget for FY
2025-2026 also shows strong projections, targeting revenues of EGP 5.959
billion and total expenditures of EGP 859 million. This is expected to yield a net
profit of EGP 5.100 billion, an impressive 34.2% increase compared to the
approved budget for the previous fiscal year.
Minister Al-Wazir underscored the vital role of the maritime
and land transport sector in driving economic development and establishing
crucial links between ports and production hubs. He highlighted the
government's comprehensive strategy for the sector, which includes modernizing
the fleet, boosting operational efficiency, and enhancing service quality for
citizens.
He emphasized the critical need for the Holding Company's
subsidiaries to expand their marketing and promotional efforts. This strategic
push aims to boost competitiveness and attract more customers, particularly in
the passenger transport sector.
In line with an ambitious fleet modernization plan, the
Maritime and Land Transport Holding Company and its affiliates are introducing
modern, more efficient vehicles. This initiative is designed to reduce
operating costs, improve safety standards, and enhance reliance on modern
technology for fleet management and operation.
To this end, agreements have been finalized for the supply
of 529 new buses and minibuses: East Delta Transport and Tourism Company will
receive 256 units, West Delta Transport and Tourism Company will acquire 209
units, and Upper Egypt Transport and Tourism Company (EGBUS) will add 64 units
to its fleet.
Beyond passenger transport, the modernization extends to
cargo operations. Agreements were also signed to purchase 50 tractor heads and
53 semi-trailers for the Nile Cargo Transport Company. This move is set to enhance
operational capacity and improve the quality of service for the public. The
company is also committed to upgrading its service stations and maintenance
workshops.
These initiatives are integral to the company's commitment
to implementing state directives aimed at improving the financial and
operational performance of its subsidiaries and affiliated entities.
Over the past two years, the Holding Company has made
significant strides across its sectors. This includes expansion projects, structural
reforms, and human resource development programs, all contributing to enhanced
service quality and operational efficiency. The positive impact is already evident
in the performance of its subsidiaries. Furthermore, the Holding Company has
proudly achieved three international ISO certifications: ISO 9001:2015 for
Quality Management Systems, ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management Systems,
and ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
The Maritime and Land Transport Holding Company and its
subsidiaries have launched a comprehensive digital transformation strategy,
implementing a range of electronic programs and systems to boost efficiency and
decision-making.
A key initiative is the ERP project, encompassing both
financial and human resources components, across the Holding Company and its
subsidiaries. This system aims to expedite report generation and provide
decision-makers with timely, data-driven insights.
To enhance customer experience and attract more passengers,
an electronic booking and collection system has been introduced for passenger
transport companies. This improves service quality and streamlines operations.
For efficient information management, an electronic archive
system has been implemented to store files and decisions, ensuring easy
retrieval and access to crucial information.
Cargo transport companies now benefit from a new application
for monitoring operations, movement, and invoicing, which helps track fleet
performance and strengthens oversight.
Further digital tools include: An application for subsidiary
company board meetings, allowing members to electronically view presented
topics, a senior management application for the Holding Company to track
ongoing work and tasks, an application for monitoring driver violations in both
passenger and cargo transport companies, and an employee performance evaluation
application for the Holding Company, designed to enhance performance
measurement and development based on merit and efficiency standards, promoting
fairness and motivation.
The Maritime and Land Transport Holding Company has secured six
intellectual property rights certificates from the Intellectual Property
Office, under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. These
certifications recognize the company's innovative digital solutions, including
several applications previously mentioned, along with new additions such as an
application for tracking assets (land and real estate) and another for monitoring
the technical condition of equipment and machinery.
The maritime transport sector has undergone significant
enhancements, with the successful completion of dredging and development works
for port berths and the modernization of handling equipment in container
handling companies. These efforts have boosted annual capacity by approximately
390,000 containers, leading to improved handling efficiency and faster
operational processes. Furthermore, the company has focused on developing
storage yards and warehouses and expanding its logistics projects.
To optimize returns and ensure resource sustainability, the
Holding Company has actively diversified its activities. It has initiated real
estate investment activities, strategically utilizing its land and properties
to balance profitability with social responsibility. This includes offering
several of its owned lands for real estate development.
In a move to enhance its passenger transport operations, the
company has acquired usufruct and management rights for the new Bilbeis parking
in Salam City and the El Obour parking next to Benha National University. These
will serve as key stations for its passenger transport subsidiaries and
third-party operators. Additionally, the company purchased a 25,000 square
meter plot of land in October Gardens to develop various administrative and
commercial projects.
Having secured a Class (A) tourism license, the Maritime and
Land Transport Holding Company is actively working to bolster its tourism
operations and those of its licensed subsidiaries. This initiative includes
activating companies on the Egyptian Umrah portal, launching targeted
promotional campaigns for umrah and hajj programs, and establishing an electronic
tourism and booking portal. The company is also developing its tourist
transport fleet, exploring the provision of limousine services, and expanding
its branch network across various governorates.
The Holding Company has invested in several newly
established and diverse companies, expanding its footprint across various
sectors. These include: Egyptian Logistics Zones Company, Suez Canal for Port
Development Company, Bernice Seaport Company, Jarjoub Seaport Company, Akta
Mass Transit, Alexandria for Supply Chains, and Egyptian Shuttle Bus Company
These entities operate in crucial areas such as logistics
services, cargo and container handling station management, seaport management
and maintenance, and passenger transport.
Furthermore, the company has forged significant partnerships
through Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with leading global, regional, and
local companies: a partnership with the Djibouti Free Ports Authority, an MoU
with Abu Dhabi Ports Group for the development and management of an integrated
logistics complex in Alexandria Governorate, cooperation with the Swiss company
MSC to enhance collaboration in Egypt's transport and logistics sector, collaboration
with El Sewedy Electric Co. to support investment and commercial relations,
focusing on the establishment, management, operation, and development of an
integrated industrial zone in Damietta Port, as well as partnership with A.P.
Moller – Maersk A/S to support Ship Recycling (RSR) in accordance with
international standards, aiming to create a sustainable environment, and a
founders' agreement with Al Wehda Industrial Development Company to engage in
ship dismantling and recycling, addressing the growing demand for steel and
scrap.
In line with the company's commitment to supporting the
Ministry of Transport's plans for transport system development, the Maritime
and Land Transport Holding Company has taken a leading role in supporting and
activating the Shuttle Bus project on the Ring Road. This initiative marks a
significant advancement in smart mass transit in Egypt.
Under the direct guidance of Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, the Maritime and Land Transport Holding Company has deployed a modern fleet of electric buses. Furthermore, the company has meticulously selected and trained drivers to ensure citizens have access to safe, integrated, and sustainable transportation solutions.
