The Minister's remarks came during a surprise inspection tour of TUYA Technology Company, formerly known as Military Production for Information Systems. TUYA Technology specializes in a wide array of digital services, including information systems, digital transformation, system analysis and design, business development, and the support and maintenance of information systems for both government and private entities, alongside data collection and storage. During his visit, the Minister thoroughly reviewed the company's operations, its state-of-the-art laboratories, programming units, and the innovative technologies in use.
Minister Moustafa began his tour by exploring the company's
various departments. He paid particular attention to the Systems Department,
which oversees vital national initiatives such as the supply system, the
comprehensive health insurance system, agricultural quarantine, agricultural
landholding, and the "farmer's card" program. This department also
manages the linking of Ministry of Manpower networks and natural gas vehicle
fueling stations. Following this, he inspected the Networks, Information
Systems, and Cybersecurity Department, underscoring the Ministry's focus on
digital security.
During the tour, Dr. Engineer Yasser Abu Mandour, Head of
TUYA Technology for Information Systems and Digital Solutions, briefed the
Minister on the company's significant progress in cybersecurity, network
systems, and advanced digital solutions. These advancements have been
instrumental in thwarting thousands of daily cyberattacks on military
production networks.
The Minister also engaged with employees, listening to their
feedback and requests. He encouraged them to intensify efforts in network
development, project expansion, and the adoption of the latest electronic
programs to align with global technological trends. He further directed the
team to address any challenges hindering development and create an optimal
environment for the company to achieve its strategic objectives, stressing the
importance of continuous training in cybersecurity and data protection for all
staff.
As a leading force in Egypt's software and information
technology sector, TUYA Technology has established numerous collaborations with
various ministries. Notably, these include a protocol for the pre-paid public
transport bus ticket project for 1,800 Cairo Public Transport Authority buses,
and a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Supply to establish a trade
information center under the Internal Trade Development Authority. The company
has also played a crucial role in implementing several national digital
transformation projects, such as the automation of the supply card system,
comprehensive health insurance, agricultural quarantine, agricultural
landholding, the issuance of the farmer's card, the linking of Ministry of
Manpower networks, and the integration of natural gas vehicle fueling stations.
The Minister was accompanied by Engineer Emile Helmy Elias, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of the National Organization for Military Production, and Engineer Mohamed Shireen Mohamed, Supervisor of the Central Administration for the Minister's Office Affairs.
