El-Sherbiny: Boosting property exports, regulating real estate market

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting today, Sunday, to follow up on the latest developments and measures being taken to establish the "Real Estate Market Regulation" and "Egyptian Real Estate Export" units. The meeting was held at the headquarters of the New Urban Communities Authority, with officials from the Ministry of Housing and the Authority in attendance.

El-Sherbiny stressed that today's meeting aims to present the visions for the work of the "Real Estate Market Regulation" and "Egyptian Real Estate Export" units to achieve the goal of their establishment. He noted that these visions will be presented to private sector developers, and their opinions and ideas will be heard. They will also be represented within the two units to participate effectively in decision-making and benefit from their expertise.

He reviewed the vision and concept for the Real Estate Market Regulation Unit, which includes stakeholders in the real estate market, such as real estate brokers and developers, marketing and periodic maintenance, registration procedures within the unit and related procedures, as well as evaluation and follow-up of registered users.

The Minister of Housing also reviewed the work of the Real Estate Market Regulatory Unit, which includes: registration, issuing licenses and permits, oversight, the Egypt Real Estate Platform, and the professional classification system for real estate companies and brokers. This includes training and professional accreditation programs, regulations for registering real estate marketing and brokerage companies, a complaints system, and awareness and education campaigns.

The meeting also addressed the work of the Egyptian Real Estate Export Unit, including: promoting Egyptian real estate in regional and international markets, organizing or participating in international real estate exhibitions, receiving inquiries from foreign investors, and other tasks that support the Egyptian real estate export portfolio and attract investors.

He emphasized that the goal of establishing the two units is to provide a comprehensive database for all elements of the real estate market, in addition to supporting the Egyptian real estate export portfolio, while establishing regulatory controls for the real estate market. He directed the development of an integrated vision with the participation of all stakeholders, including developers, to develop strategies, objectives, and implementation mechanisms to achieve these goals.
