The Media Center affirmed the smooth operation of the wheat supply system, emphasizing that deliveries are continuing normally across all storage sites nationwide with no closures. Officials noted a noticeable turnout from farmers, leading to substantial wheat deliveries. The season is set to conclude on August 15.
The total quantities supplied this year have increased by
16%, reaching 3.91 million tons to date, compared to 3.38 million tons during
the same period last year, an increase of 530,000 tons.
The Media Center highlighted that this year's deliveries are unprecedented due to several farmer-friendly incentives. These include announcing the supply price earlier than usual, increasing it to EGP 2,200/ardeb (approximately 150 kg), a price higher than imported wheat, and guaranteeing immediate payment to farmers within a maximum of 48 hours of delivery. These measures have largely encouraged farmers to cultivate and supply large volumes of wheat.
