SCZONE chairman welcomes Chinese trade delegation

Walid Gamal El-Din, chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), welcomed a delegation from China's Jilin Province Chamber of Commerce on Monday evening at the SCZONE's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. The delegation was led by Chairperson Wang Fang.

The Chinese delegation included representatives from 20 major companies operating in Jilin province, with interests spanning pharmaceutical, medical device, engineering, building materials, transportation, and food industries. Officials from the Jilin Province Chamber of Commerce, representatives from the Chinese companies, and SCZONE executive leaders attended the meeting.

Gamal El-Din presented key investment opportunities within the SCZONE, emphasizing efforts to localize and deepen industrial activity. This aligns with the SCZONE's strategic vision to boost Egyptian exports in these sectors and meet the needs of local and regional markets. He highlighted the SCZONE's competitive advantages, including the availability of skilled labor, competitively priced energy, and the strategic location of its ports on the Mediterranean and Red Seas. He noted that the integration of these ports with industrial and logistical zones provides access to approximately two billion global consumers. Gamal El-Din also stressed that Egypt's current political and economic stability, along with its balanced international relations, significantly enhance the investment climate within the SCZONE, supporting global trade and supply chain integration.

Members of the Jilin Province Chamber of Commerce delegation expressed their satisfaction with the visit, gaining firsthand insight into the SCZONE's investment potential. They acknowledged the strong strategic relations between Egypt and China, which have directly contributed to the growth of Chinese investments in the region across various sectors. The delegation expressed eagerness to cooperate with the SCZONE in the future, particularly in deepening industrialization in areas of mutual interest such as pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical devices, construction, and various modes of transport.
