The deadline comes after an approximate two-week extension due to high demand for the units. The first phase of the initiative is offering around 15,000 housing units across various governorates and new cities nationwide, the minister added.
Mai Abdel Hamid, CEO of the Social Housing and Mortgage
Finance Fund, stated that the announcement has garnered significant interest,
with over 18,000 citizens applying for units. So far, 21,024 citizens have paid
earnest money deposits and 23,257 have paid registration fees.
Abdel Hamid also noted that the online application and
document submission period has been extended until Sunday, June 22, 2025, to
ensure all citizens who have paid the initial fees have sufficient time to
complete their applications online.
Following this, applications will be screened to determine
eligibility. A period will then be opened for those who do not initially meet
the conditions to submit appeals, which will then be reviewed to finalize their
status.
Eligible applicants will subsequently have up to ten days to
access a dedicated website to select a specific housing unit. Text messages
will be sent to these applicants, providing details of the booking website and
reservation dates for each city.
