Al Wazir witnesses licensing of Rehla Rides for tech-based transport

Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, witnessed the signing of a licensing agreement for "Rehla Rides for Land Transport Services Organization" to operate in the field of passenger transport using information technology.

The agreement was formally signed by Engineer Diaa El-Din Moustafa, CEO of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority, and Mohamed Nashaat, Deputy CEO of the Innovator Group, representing the shareholders.

The Minister stated that this signing aligns with the state's efforts to encourage and maximize the role of Egyptian companies in smart transport within Egypt. This initiative aims to provide safe, easy, and competitively priced transport solutions and services to meet the needs of various community segments, with a focus on technology and sustainability. It also embodies the Egyptian state's encouragement of public-private partnerships in implementing development projects and improving the quality of life in major cities through safe transportation methods.

During the signing ceremony, the company's executive plan, structured into several phases, was presented. The initial phase involves a three-month pilot operation in Alexandria and the North Coast. Operations are then slated to expand to Cairo, Delta cities, Upper Egypt, and key tourist destinations within 18 months of the pilot launch.

The company is committed to injecting approximately EGP 400 million in investments during its first year of operation. This significant investment aims to attract 425,000 active users within two years and generate employment opportunities for over 10,000 drivers by the end of its second year of operation.

Currently, 600 vehicles are registered with the company and are prepared for immediate operation in Alexandria Governorate and the North Coast. Rehla Rides aims to expand its fleet to 100,000 vehicles operating across all Egyptian governorates within the next three years.

Rehla Rides is poised to deliver a modern and secure smart transport experience through its integrated transport services application, "arrw," available on both Google Play and Webstore platforms. This comprehensive digital system includes: A passenger application that facilitates seamless vehicle requests, real-time journey tracking, and electronic payments.; a driver application designed to ensure the highest levels of discipline and instant communication with support centers,  and a smart supervision interface that enables 24/7 monitoring of service quality and performance.

It is worth noting that Rehla Rides is an Egyptian joint-stock company. Its ownership structure comprises several prominent Egyptian companies and investors, including: IFFM for Commercial Investment, Pie for Corporate Consulting, B Innovator, and the office of Dr. Moustafa Mahmoud Issa.
