The ministry stated in a statement that in light of current regional developments, it has been decided to postpone the official opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, which was scheduled for July 3.
The ministry stated that a new date for the official opening of the museum will be set during the last quarter of this year and will be announced in due course. This will be done after coordination with all relevant authorities to ensure the organization of an event befitting Egypt's tourism and cultural status on the international stage.
The ministry indicated that this decision was also made based on the
Egyptian state's national responsibility and its commitment to presenting an
exceptional global event in an atmosphere befitting the greatness of Egyptian
civilization and its unique heritage, ensuring broad international
participation commensurate with the importance of the event.
The ministry added that the Grand Museum will continue to receive visitors during its trial opening until the new official opening date, during the last quarter of this year, approaches.
