42% of commercial registry applications submitted electronically

The Internal Trade Development Authority, affiliated with the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, announced the availability of 20 commercial registry services through the "Digital Egypt" platform, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. This platform contributes to facilitating access for citizens and the business community and enhancing the efficiency of government service delivery.

These electronic services include the most popular transactions for citizens, including requests for an official extract from the commercial registry and requests for a data certificate, in addition to other services related to amending and updating registration data. This step represents a qualitative shift in the development of commercial registry services, as citizens can now apply for services electronically and track the status of their applications instantly through the platform, without having to visit service offices.

The Authority explained that the percentage of applications submitted through the Digital Egypt platform reached 42% of the total applications submitted to commercial registry offices nationwide, reflecting citizens' increased awareness and preference for digital methods that save time and effort.

The electronic service is characterized by the ease and accuracy of submitting applications, reducing the risk of human error, and separating the service applicant from the service provider. It also reduces overcrowding within registry offices, thus enhancing employee efficiency and service quality. A special window has been designated within the commercial registry offices for submitting applications submitted electronically. The applicant receives a QR code sent to their mobile phone after completing the application on the platform, enabling them to receive the document quickly and without waiting. As part of further facilitation, a document delivery service has also been made available to the applicant via express mail.

The Internal Trade Development Authority confirmed that providing commercial registry services on the "Digital Egypt" platform is part of an integrated plan to digitize the authority's various services. This aligns with the state's aspirations to promote digital transformation, improve the investment environment, and provide modern and effective government services befitting Egyptian citizens.

It is worth noting that the "Digital Egypt" platform currently includes 16 service packages encompassing approximately 200 digital government services. The number of users of the platform has reached more than 8 million citizens to date.
