The CPA urged consumers who purchased this product to immediately stop using it and contact IKEA branches or customer service to return the product for a refund or exchange, without requiring a purchase invoice, in accordance with approved safety procedures.
The CPA also confirmed its continued monitoring of such cases and its commitment to taking all necessary measures to protect consumer rights and ensure their safety. This action falls within the framework of compliance with the provisions of Law No. 181 of 2018 and its executive regulations, particularly those related to the safety and quality of goods and services circulating in the Egyptian market. These regulations require suppliers to report any potential risks that may arise from the use of displayed products and to take all necessary corrective measures immediately upon discovery of defects.
The CPA also emphasized that it will continue to coordinate and follow up with IKEA and examine all technical procedures related to withdrawing the product from the Egyptian market to ensure this incident does not recur and to confirm the company's compliance with safety standards and specifications.
