Dr. Talaat underscored the deep and diverse cooperation between Egypt and Saudi Arabia in the communications and information technology sectors. He highlighted key areas such as digital capacity building, innovation and entrepreneurship support, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation. The talks also touched on collaborating to develop telecommunications infrastructure, a vital step toward fostering digital integration between the two nations.
He then showcased the Ministry's efforts to create a
comprehensive information society within the Knowledge City in Egypt's New
Administrative Capital. This ambitious project is home to several key
institutions, including the Information Technology Institute, the National
Telecommunication Institute, Egypt University of Informatics, Imhotep Center
for Creativity and Development, and the National Academy of Information
Technology for Persons with Disabilities. He invited Ambassador Al-Husseini to
visit the Knowledge City firsthand to explore its various initiatives. These
programs are designed to stimulate digital innovation and entrepreneurship,
support electronic design, cultivate top digital talent in partnership with
international universities and leading global companies, advance the
localization of assistive technologies, and boost applied research in
artificial intelligence.
For his part, Ambassador Al-Husseini affirmed the strong
ties between Saudi Arabia and Egypt at both popular and governmental levels. He
expressed a keen interest in learning more about the Ministry of Communications
and Information Technology's initiatives in digital capacity building and
entrepreneurship support, suggesting a visit to the Knowledge City and Egypt
Digital Creativity Centers. He also proposed strengthening cooperation between
the Ministry and King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology to further boost
technological innovation and entrepreneurship.
The meeting also underscored the importance of bolstering regional cooperation between Egypt and Saudi Arabia. This aims to coordinate their positions and support priority issues within the communications and information technology sector across the region. Additionally, they discussed joint efforts to unify Arab visions and stances on international platforms.
