This was stated by Engineer Abdel Raouf El-Gheity, Chairman of the New Cairo City Authority, who confirmed that the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities has instructed the Authority to be steadfast in confronting any violation, encroachment on the city's urban identity, or diversion of residential units from their intended purpose.
He added that under the supervision of Engineer Sayed Amin, Deputy Chairman of the Authority for the First District, and in coordination with the Development Department, the Security Director, District Managers, and the Urban Planning Police, several campaigns were implemented to remove building violations and encroachments. These included: The Banafseg District, where decisions were implemented to close, seal, and remove meters for several units that had been converted from residential to commercial and administrative buildings. Violations of rooftop rooms were also removed from plots of land in the Banafseg 2, 6, and 7 districts, and Zone 12017, District 11/12. In addition, illegal construction work was removed from the 30C building in the Ajyad Compound. In the Yasmine and East Academy districts, rooftop room violations were removed from plots Nos. 204 Yasmine 5, 211 Yasmine 6, and 116 East Academy, District 4.
El-Gheity confirmed that in the Third District, under the supervision of Engineer Tamer Gabr, the Authority's Deputy Chairman for the Third District, and in the presence of development, security, and sanitation officials, several immediate campaigns were implemented to remove various violations. These included: In the Andalusia 1 and 2 neighborhoods, rooftop violations were removed in plots 163, 505, and 440. In the Narges Extension, a removal order was implemented for an unlicensed building in plot 194G. In Gardenia and the Industrial Zone, an illegal floor building was removed in plot 104 - Gardenia 2, and an illegal awning and back door were removed in plot 6 - Zone T. Violating signs were also removed in the Industrial Zone, and all legal measures were taken against the violations.
He explained that in the Eastern Extension area (Beit Al Watan - Tamr Henna), under the leadership of Engineer Ahmed Abdel Wahab, the Authority's Deputy Chairman, campaigns were implemented to remove illegal buildings on plots of land in the Tamr Hanna neighborhoods, where a violation was removed in plot 124 - Zone 1. In Beit Al Watan, a violation was removed from plot No. 11H in the First District.
El-Gheity stated that in the Fifth District, under the supervision of Dr. Reham Hassan, Vice President of the Authority for the Fifth District, and in cooperation with the Directors of Development and Security and the Head of the Southern Investors District, illegal rooftop rooms were removed in Plots Nos. 9, 123, 186 – Family 4, and Plot 293 – National Defense District.
The head of the Authority confirmed that campaigns are ongoing in all the city's neighborhoods and communities, emphasizing that immediate legal action will be taken against any violations. He noted that the assigned work teams are working around the clock, even during official holidays, as part of the state's plan preserve the civilized character of the new cities and prevent any appearance of randomness.
