The agreement was signed by Dr. Mohamed El-Tayeb, Deputy Minister of Health, on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Population, and by Mr. Ibrahim Sarhan, Chairman of eHealth's Board of Directors, on behalf of eHealth.
The Minister affirmed that the agreement aligns with the
state's vision to build an integrated digital health system that keeps pace
with technological advancements and boosts the quality of healthcare services
provided to citizens. This, he noted, will help achieve sustainable development
goals and Egypt's Vision 2030 in the health sector.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the
Ministry of Health and Population, stated that the agreement fosters
cooperation under the National Digital Health Strategy. This collaboration will
leverage eHealth's infrastructure and technical expertise to advance the
Egyptian health sector's digital transformation.
He further explained that eHealth will review the Ministry's
National Digital Health Strategy. Following this, they will provide an
integrated operational model for its implementation and develop a financial and
investment model. This model aims to ensure the digital health sector's sustainability
and attract further investment.
The company will also prepare a clear roadmap for
implementing the National Digital Health Strategy and link it to the stages of
applying the Universal Health Insurance system, ensuring integrated performance
and the achievement of desired objectives.
The spokesperson further elaborated that the strategic study
to be prepared under the agreement comprises two main parts. The first involves
the technological and informational infrastructure necessary for efficiently
operating various systems that support the National Digital Health Strategy's
implementation. The second part includes an integrated plan for establishing
and developing hospitals, medical centers, clinics, and all providers of
health, curative, and preventive services. This will be achieved through
offering promising investment opportunities and long-term partnerships,
ensuring the system's sustainability and future growth.
The protocol mandates the creation of a supreme committee,
to be established by a decision from the Minister of Health and Population.
This committee will oversee and monitor the implementation of the agreement's
terms. It will also be responsible for preparing and submitting periodic
reports to both the Minister of Health and Population and the Chairman of
eHealth's Board of Directors.
Ibrahim Sarhan, Chairman of eHealth's Board of Directors, expressed his pride in the partnership with the Ministry of Health. He emphasized its positive impact on Egypt's healthcare system and its role in improving the quality of services for all citizens.
