The protocol was signed by Dr. Mohamed Fawzy, Advisor to the Minister of Health and Population for Radiology Affairs and Supervisor of the General Department of Radiology at the Ministry, and Engineer Ahmed Makhlouf, General Manager of Philips North Africa. The signing was attended by Dr. Hisham Seteit, Head of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement and Medical Supply, and the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Egypt, Peter Mollema.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the
Ministry of Health, stated that the protocol's primary goal is to conduct
feasibility studies for localizing medical device industries within Egypt.
He further explained that this collaboration encompasses
several key areas: studying the localization of medical device component
manufacturing, developing the medical device industry in Egypt, and establishing
a specialized knowledge transfer center in biomedical engineering.
Dr. Mohamed Fawzy stated that the protocol mandates collaboration between both parties to support local industry and increase the presence of Egyptian health technology products in the market, aligning with Egypt's state priorities and future plans.
