Bulgaria enhances wheat deliveries to Egypt

To strengthen bilateral relations between Egypt and Bulgaria, Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, met today, Thursday, with Deyan Katratchev, the Bulgarian Ambassador to Cairo, at the ministry's headquarters. They discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation and increase trade volume between the two countries.

The meeting was attended by Georgi Nedyalkov, the Bulgarian Commercial Counselor, and Alexandar Severinov, Third Secretary at the Bulgarian Embassy in Cairo.

Dr. Farouk expressed Egypt's appreciation for the historical relations between the two countries, emphasizing the importance of opening new avenues for cooperation in trade and industry. He highlighted specific sectors such as food industries, grains, storage, and logistical transport. He also reviewed the Egyptian state's efforts to enhance food security and develop supply chains in cooperation with international partners.

Discussions during the meeting also focused on increasing wheat supply from Bulgaria to Egypt, building on successes from the previous period. Additionally, proposals were made to utilize Egypt's advanced silo infrastructure to improve supply chains from Eastern Europe. This aligns with the ministry's plan to boost storage capacity and enhance national food security.

For his part, the Bulgarian Ambassador affirmed his country's interest in strengthening economic cooperation with Egypt, highlighting that the Egyptian market serves as a crucial gateway for Bulgarian products to the Middle Eastern and African markets. He also expressed the readiness of several Bulgarian investors and companies to engage in investment partnerships and joint projects with both the public and private sectors in Egypt.
