The JLL report revealed that the opening of two new five-star hotels in the first quarter of 2025 (Hilton Cairo Nile Maadi and the Sofitel Cairo Downtown) contributed to the addition of approximately 870 rooms, providing a major boost to the Cairo hospitality sector.
It added that an additional 650 four- and five-star rooms are expected to enter the market by the end of the year, bringing the total supply in the sector above the current level of 27,800 rooms.
The report continued that the strength of the hospitality sector's performance and the continuation of its positive trend are clearly evident in the latest STR Global report. This is despite a slight decline in occupancy rates, which was offset by a significant increase in average daily room rates (30.5% compared to last year), resulting in a significant annual growth in revenue per available room of 29.11%.
