Presidential Spokesperson Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy stated that the two presidents held a closed meeting, followed by an expanded session of talks with the participation of delegations from both countries. The two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations, particularly in the economic, infrastructure, energy, and reconstruction efforts. The talks also addressed mechanisms to support Lebanon's stability and restore regional peace and security, given the major challenges facing the region.
El-Sisi stated that the talks represent a valuable opportunity to exchange views on ways to enhance cooperation between our two countries, particularly in the economic and trade fields. He noted that Egypt affirmed its commitment to supporting Lebanon's reconstruction efforts by leveraging Egypt's pioneering expertise in this field.
He also stressed Egypt's unwavering support for Lebanon, both in terms of achieving internal stability and preserving its full sovereignty, and its categorical rejection of Israel's repeated violations against Lebanese territory.
He renewed his call for the international community to assume its responsibilities toward Lebanon's reconstruction, urging international organizations and donors to actively participate in this effort to ensure Lebanon's return to normalcy, on the path of peace, coexistence, and love in the region.
