The Ministry stated in a statement that, in light of the posts it has observed on social media platforms regarding a suspected gas leak in the vicinity of the site of the previous natural gas pipeline accident at the entrance to 6th of October City on the El Wahat Road - West Sumed, the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources confirms that the reports are false.
The Ministry added that the emergency teams went to the site, accompanied by operations engineers from Natgas Company, which is responsible for distributing natural gas in the area. The reported area and the surrounding areas were combed several times using modern detection devices, and no traces of the smell of gas were detected, and specialized equipment did not record any indications of a gas leak at the site.
The Ministry confirmed that the situation is completely safe and that there is no truth to the existence of a gas leak.
The Ministry thanked the citizens who contacted us to report their suspicions of a leak in the area and urged everyone to contact us directly via official channels if they have any comments, reports, or safety concerns.
