Dr. Amir El Talwany, Executive Director of the Authority, represented the General Authority for Healthcare, while Mr. Hesham Radwan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Danone Egypt, represented the Authority. The signing ceremony was attended by several leaders from both sides.
Dr. El Sobky said that the protocol aims to enhance ways of
joint cooperation between the two parties in the field of therapeutic
nutrition, by providing nutritional products and drinks to patients within the
Authority’s facilities, especially cases that need specialized nutritional
support, in addition to training nutrition doctors on the latest developments
in that field.
The protocol includes Danone Egypt's participation in health and
awareness campaigns implemented by the General Authority for Healthcare,
contributing to supporting citizens' health, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and
raising awareness of the concepts of healthy nutrition as a component of
prevention and treatment.
El Sobky stressed the authority’s continued keenness to conclude
strategic partnerships with major local and international companies to support
the quality of health services within its facilities. He highlighted the
importance of integrating the private sector into health investment, ensuring
the provision of integrated health services with the highest international
quality standards to beneficiaries of the comprehensive health insurance
system.
He pointed out that therapeutic nutrition is a fundamental pillar of
patient care, particularly in chronic and critical cases, contributing to
improved health outcomes. He added that the Authority seeks to ensure that
patients receive integrated health services with the highest international
quality standards, including medical care and nutritional support.
Stammkoetter expressed his pleasure at signing the MoU, emphasizing
that this comes from Danone's global commitment to supporting public health
through proper nutrition, and that the partnership with the Authority is an
important step toward achieving this goal in Egypt. He added that Danone is proud to contribute to
supporting patients in the Authority's hospitals, especially those most in
need, by providing specialized nutritional products that meet their health
needs. He emphasized Danone's aspiration to expand the scope of the partnership
in the future to serve the goals of sustainable health development.
