Governor Koike expressed appreciation for Dr. Talaat's participation in the 'Sushi Tech Tokyo 2025' conference and highlighted the 35th anniversary of the Cairo-Tokyo friendship agreement, expressing interest in strengthening ICT collaboration. Discussions also focused on linking the Tokyo Innovation Platform with Egypt's Digital Creativity Centers, particularly in AI startups, and exploring research and student exchange between Egypt University of Informatics and a Japanese counterpart. Dr. Talaat invited Governor Koike to visit Egypt to witness the country's burgeoning tech ecosystem.
In a separate meeting with Japanese Minister of Internal
Affairs and Communications, Seishiro Murakami, Dr. Talaat explored deepening
Egypt-Japan cooperation in technological solutions, AI, and postal services.
They reviewed the 2023 memorandum of cooperation, covering digital
infrastructure, cybersecurity, and postal services, and discussed AI strategy
implementation, cybersecurity best practices, and e-commerce logistics.
The meetings were attended by key Egyptian officials, including ITIDA CEO Ahmed Elzaher and representatives from the Applied Innovation Center and international relations.
