He stressed the importance of creating an exceptional experience for foreign tourists, particularly by streamlining entry and exit procedures at Egyptian airports through the implementation of the latest technologies.
During the meeting, the Minister of Communications and
Information Technology presented the project overview for developing an
electronic platform or portal for foreign tourist visas. He explained that the
system's development aims to transform the visa process from paper to a
fast-response digital format. This will alleviate airport congestion, improve
the efficiency of tourism services at entry points, and enhance Egypt's global
competitiveness.
The Deputy Minister of Communications and Information
Technology for Technological Infrastructure and Digital Transformation provided
an update on the system's development, outlining the steps taken according to
project timelines. This includes preparations for launching the updated e-visa
application and the project's first phase, as well as proposals to promote the
electronic visa portal for long-term success.
Concluding the meeting, the Prime Minister directed all relevant authorities to coordinate and cooperate to streamline foreign tourist arrival procedures at Egyptian airports, utilizing the latest global electronic systems.
