Sherif Fathy, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, met with Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the General Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Airlines, during his current visit to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to participate in the Arabian Travel Market (ATM 2025). The meeting discussed prospects for joint cooperation to support inbound tourism to Egypt.

The meeting was attended by Engineer Ahmed Youssef, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Strategic Management Affairs and Acting CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority, and Ahmed Nabil, Assistant Minister for Follow-up and Aviation.

The discussion focused on ways to enhance coordination between the two sides to increase the flow of inbound tourism to Egypt, particularly from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Asia, by leveraging the extensive network of Emirates Airlines. During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of the aviation sector as a key tool for enhancing communication between peoples and stimulating international tourism.

The two sides also discussed the possibility of increasing the number of Emirates Airlines flights to some Egyptian tourist cities, such as Hurghada and El Alamein. They also discussed opportunities for cooperation in linking these tourist destinations with integrated operating routes serving tourists from distant markets, which would contribute to facilitating access to Egypt and diversifying tourism sources.

The meeting also reviewed ongoing developments in the North Coast region, particularly in New Alamein City, one of Egypt's most promising tourist destinations, and the booming infrastructure and urban development it is witnessing.

The investment opportunities available in the tourism sector were also reviewed, particularly in the field of hotel construction and development, with the aim of supporting hotel capacity and enhancing the Egyptian tourism sector's readiness for sustainable growth.
