Al-Wazir: 332 equipped factories in 10 governorates

Lieutenant General Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, announced the offering of 332 fully equipped and vacant industrial units within industrial complexes in ten governorates through the Egypt Industrial Digital Portal.

This step aims to deepen local manufacturing and encourage serious small investors to immediately launch their industrial projects.

The offering coincides with the state's celebration of Egyptian Labor Day and supports the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) sector. The Ministry believes that SMEs are a key component of the state's urgent plan to advance industry. This plan focuses on benefiting from the energies of the private sector, addressing and overcoming any challenges investors may face, and meeting their demands to support serious investment, create sustainable job opportunities, and build an industrial base capable of strengthening supply chains.

It is scheduled to begin electronically withdrawing and submitting the tender booklet that fulfills all requirements and documents from May 1st through the 15th via the Misr Industrial Digital Platform (www.madein.eg).

The Minister stated that the units will be offered in 10 industrial complexes as follows:

Bayad Al-Arab complex in Beni Suef: 19 units

Arab Al-Awamer complex in Assiut: 38 units

Ho complex in Qena: 84 units

West Girga in Sohag: 19 units

El Matahra complex in Minya: 3 units

Al Baghdadi complex in Luxor: 10 units

El Geneina and El Shabak complex in Aswan: 146 units

Fayoum metal complex: 2 units

Hurghada complex in the Red Sea: 8 units

Mergham 2 complex in Alexandria: 3 units

The units offered include various activities, including engineering, food, power, spinning and weaving, furniture, ready-made clothes, chemicals, building materials, metal, pharmaceutical, and leather industries, with various sizes ranging from 144 to 792 square meters.

Al-Wazir stressed that, in continuation of the Ministry's commitment to supporting small industries and facilitating the work of serious investors, the Ministry has ensured that industrial units are fully equipped, have complete facilities and services, and are ready for immediate operation. Furthermore, the complexes were built according to the highest and most modern international construction and environmental standards.

This offering includes a range of distinct facilities for entrepreneurs, as units were offered in all governorates under the ownership system and with financing facilities. He stressed that the El-Geneina and El-Shabak complex in Nasr El-Nuba Center in Aswan Governorate is being offered under both ownership and rental systems and is dedicated to entrepreneurs from Nasr El-Nuba, supporting investment and sustainable development in the governorate and preserving the heritage and craft industries that distinguish Nasr El-Nuba.

Al-Wazir pointed out that investors in this offering, like previous offerings, can benefit from low-interest financing (5% decreasing) to own the unit, with facilities up to 100% of the unit's value, through several banks with which the General Authority for Industrial Development has signed cooperation protocols in this regard. Unit holders can also benefit from the support of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) regarding financing facilities to provide machinery, production lines and supplies, in addition to benefiting from a distinguished group of diverse non-financial services such as marketing, training and technical support.

There are also significant procedural facilitations for obtaining industrial licenses for the units, and the standard costs for reviewing applications as well as fees for submitting offers have been cancelled, with the price of the tender booklet reduced to EGP 500. Investors can also apply for more than one unit in the industrial complex to accommodate their industrial activity.
