Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Sherif El-Sherbini, met with Zheng Xuexuan, Chairman of China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), at the company's Beijing headquarters to discuss the progress of joint ventures, notably the Central Business District in the New Administrative Capital and the Downtown Towers in New Alamein City.

The two sides also reviewed the latest operational and maintenance practices in anticipation of the Central Business District's launch and explored avenues to strengthen their collaboration within the robust Egypt-China relationship.

The meeting was attended by Egypt's Ambassador to China, Khaled Nazmy, and officials from both the Ministry of Housing and CSCEC.

At the outset, Chairman Zheng of CSCEC welcomed Minister El-Sherbiny and his delegation, underscoring Egypt's significance as a partner for the company in the Middle East and North Africa. He highlighted the substantial advancements in their cooperation with Egypt in recent years and reaffirmed CSCEC's commitment to ongoing collaboration with both Egypt and the Ministry of Housing.

Zheng Xuexuan stated that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi was briefed last year on the status of the Central Business District and the Downtown Towers projects, providing directives on their execution with an emphasis on quality. He emphasized that these collaborative projects would be architectural and historical landmarks, with the Central Business District and Downtown Towers holding great importance for Egypt.

Zheng Xuexuan further noted that the partnership would be fruitful and mutually beneficial, leveraging shared expertise, and expressed a desire for increased cooperation to establish their projects as distinguished symbols for both nations.

Minister of Housing Sherif El-Sherbiny expressed his anticipation for partnerships and alliances with the Arab Contractors Company (Osman Ahmed Osman & Co.), one of their key implementing arms. He proposed that a collaboration between CSCEC and the Arab Contractors could form a powerful alliance capable of undertaking numerous projects, particularly across the African continent.

The Minister also conveyed his gratitude to the officials of CSCEC and their Egyptian partners, including EnCom Company, for their ongoing efforts and cooperation.

During the meeting, they reviewed the company's work in the sector of operation, management, and maintenance of towers. The Chairman of CSCEC stated, "We have a specialized subsidiary for this, and we look forward to cooperating with the Ministry of Housing in operation and maintenance projects, not only in the Central Business District project but also in a number of other projects in the area.

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny commended the decision of the Chairman of CSCEC to agree to an alliance with the Arab Contractors Company, saying, "We are ready now to activate this. Regarding investment opportunities, we have opportunities to establish industrial zones in the new cities, as well as tourism projects, and we have confidence in your company's capabilities to establish new cooperative ventures."
