Engineer Karim Badawy, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, presided over the signing of a significant agreement. This model agreement pertains to the exploitation of raw gold and associated minerals within specific regions of Egypt's Eastern Desert. The parties involved are the Egyptian General Authority for Mineral Resources and the international mining company, AngloGold Ashanti represented in Engineer Hoda Mansour - the Managing Director and General Manager of the Sukari mine and the representative for AngloGold in Egypt.

Minister Badawy emphasized that a crucial aspect of the Ministry's strategy involves modernizing agreement systems to align them with global standards. This move aims to instill confidence in international mining companies, encouraging them to make new investments in Egypt's mining sector, ultimately contributing to the nation's gross national product. He highlighted the collaborative effort of experts that led to this agreement, which is expected to promote the adoption of advanced technologies in gold exploration. Badawy expressed his gratitude to AngloGold for their dedication and this successful partnership.

She conveyed her satisfaction with the signing, viewing it as the beginning of an expansion of AngloGold Ashanti's investments in Egypt.
