The Minister pointed out that all regulatory bodies within the Ministry of Supply have been directed to intensify inspection campaigns in the markets, particularly focusing on goods with increased demand during this period, such as salted and smoked fish, herring, and fermented fish (feseekh). This is to ensure the quality of the products offered, their suitability for consumption, and to protect citizens from any practices that harm their health or interests.
He added that directives have been issued to the directors
of supply and internal trade directorates in all governorates, stressing the
necessity of on-the-ground presence and raising the level of maximum
preparedness during this period. Daily inspection campaigns will continue in
coordination with the Supply Investigations Police, the Control and
Distribution Sector, and relevant departments to regulate markets and prevent
any attempts to hoard goods or inflate prices.
The Minister of Supply emphasized that the ministry is working at full capacity to ensure the stability of markets and the provision of high-quality goods at reasonable prices to citizens, within the framework of the state's commitment to the safety and needs of citizens during occasions and holidays.
