For the eleventh consecutive month, remittances from Egyptian expatriates have surged following the March 2024 reforms. In January 2025, these inflows jumped by 83.2% to approximately $2.9 billion (up from about $1.6 billion in January 2024), marking the highest January figure on record.
Over the first seven months of fiscal year 2024/2025 (July 2024 to January 2025), remittances also saw a significant increase of 81.0%, reaching roughly $20.0 billion (compared to about $11.0 billion during the same period in the previous fiscal year).
