The tour began with an inspection of a 650-megawatt wind power generation farm. This tour comes within the framework of the working strategy towards spreading the use of renewable energies, reducing carbon emissions, diversifying energy sources, and reducing the rate of dependence on fossil fuels.
The Prime Minister highlighted the government's efforts to
ensure sustainable energy availability for local consumption and to support
national economic development. This aligns with the commitment to achieving
sustainable development goals, attracting new investments, ensuring stable and
quality electricity supply for all projects, and enhancing the electricity
grid's capacity, following the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for
continuous updates to the comprehensive energy security plan with increased
reliance on renewable sources.
He also pointed to the state's efforts to increase the
generated capacities from wind turbines by relying on ultra-high turbines with
high production capacities; in order to maximize the benefit from wind energy
in areas characterized by high wind speeds throughout the republic.
He stated that these efforts align with strengthening national plans to increase and maximize the value of renewable energy, thereby diversifying energy supply sources for the state's ongoing development in partnership with the private sector, a key player in the Egyptian economy.
