Awad clarified that, since the early hours of Friday morning, the governorates have witnessed extensive meetings of governors and executive bodies, attended by the directors of the Traffic, Traffic Investigations, Parking, Crisis, and Supply departments. Committees were formed to amend the new fares to approve the amendment to the fares for cars in each governorate and neighboring governorates.
She indicated that the Ministry's National Emergency
and Public Safety Network Control Center, Operations Room, and Crisis Management
have been instructed to continuously monitor developments in the situation with
the operations rooms and crisis management departments in the governorates
throughout the day and to ensure the regular operation of parking lots and gas
stations.
She directed the executive leadership of each
governorate to collaborate with the heads of the Traffic Department, the
Traffic Investigation Department, and the Parking Manager to inspect service
lanes. This aims to ensure drivers comply with the new tariffs, do not obstruct
traffic, and do not exploit citizens. Additionally, she tasked the heads of
cities, centers, and neighborhoods, in coordination with supply departments, to
monitor gas stations, intensify oversight to guarantee the full and untainted arrival
of quotas, and take legal action against any violations.
Dr. Awad stressed the importance of intensifying inspection
campaigns at microbus stations in each governorate to prevent the exploitation
of citizens. Service fares should be set in accordance with the new increase in
petroleum products, with the new fares posted on the front and rear windshields
of cars. This should be announced on social media in the governorates, and
banners and signs displaying the new fares should be placed in prominent
locations at the stations.
She called on citizens to contact the emergency numbers, hotlines, operations rooms, and crisis management offices in all governorates of the republic, as well as the Ministry's "Your Voice Is Heard" initiative to file any complaints.
