Engineer Sherif El-Sherbini welcomed Mrs. Lenka Miháliková, praising the participation of the Slovak delegation during the activities of the twelfth session of the World Urban Forum, which was held in Cairo under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi last November. He highlighted the launch of the National Strategy for Smart Cities during the forum, emphasizing the Egyptian state's significant focus on developing a new generation of sustainable smart "fourth generation" cities. These cities, he noted, offer diverse investment opportunities in urban development and feature industrial zones designed to attract and localize modern technologies.
The Minister of Housing further stressed that President
El-Sisi's directives prioritize the enhancement of Egyptian industry and local
products. He stated that this is being pursued through strengthened cooperation
between Egyptian and international companies for the exchange of expertise,
technology transfer, and localization. He affirmed the Ministry of Housing's
full support for foreign direct investment and the localization of industries
related to construction, building, drinking water, and sanitation projects.
Ambassador Miháliková expressed her admiration for Egypt's
current urban development and her desire to deepen cooperation with the
Egyptian side, leveraging their extensive experience in urban development.
The Ambassador also extended an official invitation to Engineer El-Sherbini to attend the third annual "Smart City Agenda Forum" in Slovakia on April 24 and 25, 2025.
